The BEST for the discriminating taste.

I love this stuff!!! It was an acquired taste, but took me no time at all to make the adjustment. My diagnosis is Glioblastoma but...despite the grim prognosis... I have remained "progression free", since diagnosis. I don't add ANY added sugar. I usually drink it with half coconut milk, half almond milk and a touch of organic vanilla. A cup of this gives me energy and I have developed a taste for it...which makes it sublime! Anyone who is treating a serious illness should check with their doctor. This seems to be powerful medicine and may not be appropriate for every patient...but I consider it part of my personalized protocol.

I love this stuff

I love this stuff. It took it a few days for my body to really take to all its amazing effects and to get off coffee in the morning but I have started drinking a hot blended up of it made of hot water, powder, and coconut oil and it allows me to feel full all morning and have energy and if I drink this plus water around 7 am the I don't need to eat until 11! Helps shed the pounds pls detox and give the body a rest from digesting food all the time! I highly recommend this product!

Great taste, very affordable!

I was very excited when my Cocotropic arrived as it is my first product from Wild Foods Co, although I'm not a big fan of the new plastic foil/mylar bag as mine was a tad difficult to get open. But once I did, I was greeted with a very sweet chocolate smell, enticing me to indulge immediately. So I held firm and somehow waited another day to try it with my morning coffee.

Adding 1TBSP of Cocotropic to my morning coffee and adding a few TSP of coconut oil for absorption, made for an excellent morning that day. As I mentioned before, it smells amazing. The powder, to me, smells like opening a bag of indulgent dark chocolate and once prepared, I find that it gave my coffee a very dark chocolate-y taste. This formula really is very similar to hot chocolate! The earthiness from the mushrooms and other ingredients mesh well with the raw cacao. It may just be me, but I did find the powder did not fully mix into my coffee any time I used it, so there was always a little grittiness to it and the end of each cup had sediment in it from the powder that was not mixed. Not a big deal, I expected that to happen.

The reported effects of Cocotropic, for me, were very noticeable. I've used mushroom powders in the past and understood that I'd be on the receiving end of a delicious cup of coffee that basically gave me Provigil-like focus. Once my mushrooms kick in at work, it's VERY hard to pull me off task or get distracted, I literally plow through my work much more quickly. For me, the effects of the powder are so noticeable I can easily distinguish between my mental acuity ON and OFF the powder. I know it sounds hyperbolic when I say it but I feel as if I have laser-like focus about 20 minutes after having some of my Cocotropic coffee. Plus, I get that delicious chocolate smell and taste!

Now, why a 3 star review for something I like? Well, it's really 3.5 stars for me, for two important reasons. I found that the week I used Cocotropic (and no other nootropics or my other mushroom powders), I was more jittery, all day, even well into the evening more 6+ hours after drinking my coffee. I made my coffee the same way each day: few OZ of coffee, 2 TSP of NOW Foods MCT Oil, and 1 TBSP of Cocotropic. I will try it with 1/2 TBSP to see if the effects are the same. The second reason I took off a star was that while Cocotropic includes turmeric(although, I do not know exactly HOW much is in each scoop) because curcumin is excellent for your body! However, without Bioperine/black pepper extract, the turmeric will not have the same absorption rates into your body, therefore decreasing its efficacy. The inclusion of Bioperine would increase the absorption of curcumin by up to 85%; I've found the most effective/affordable ratio is 100:1 curcumin to black pepper as very little black pepper is needed for the curcumin. However, synergistically, the addition of Bioperine also increases the absorption rates of all the other included herbs. Perhaps a future formula from Wild Foods Co will include Bioperine!

Even though I only give Cocotropic 3 stars, it's not because I do not like the product -- I really do! -- or I will never use it again, I just cannot take a full serving because of how jittery it makes me, and the lack of Bioperine is a surprising choice by Wild Foods given that all of their products seem so well-researched and formulated to be as effective as possible. I am going to cut back to 1/2TBSP/serving and go from there.

No sugar or sweetener recipe

Bitter at first for my preference (due to the Raw Cacao), but I learned to tweak it!
I do feel more of a perk up, and it was not just me. I made some for the family without telling them what I mixed it their coffee just to do an amateur double blind test. Yeah, both people I have shared it with noted that they felt more alter - nice!

So, to reduce sugar/sweeteners that I may have intake due to the bitterness of the Raw Cacao (its the highest mg amount in this mix) I decided to mix 1/2 tea spoon with "Organic Raw Ashwagandha Root Powder by Wild Foods, Wild Herb #1" and to my surprise it did tone down the bitterness - let a lone the added benefits of Ashwagandha.

I believe if I add increments of the root powder I will be able to find my "sweet spot" (hehe) without adding any sweeteners

I added a picture with foamed almond milk on top, the coffee mixture, and almond milk on the bottom

I add a little bit of sweetener and it tastes just like a mocha

This product is absolutely delicious!! It makes my coffee so rich and tasty! I add a little bit of sweetener and it tastes just like a mocha! The health benefits are just a super convenient benefit- I will continue to use it for the creamy, chocolatey taste alone! I would highly recommend to anyone who loves chocolate and coffee- perfect pairing!!

Rich flavor. Very satisfying.

All winter I watched shows and movies with people having cocoa and craved if a satisfying vegan alternative. I experimented but wasn’t satisfied with my own attempts. But this stuff was perfect. I sweeten with a good dollop of maple syrup. I am a fan of dark chocolate and this is a nice rich flavor. Love that it has some other good stuff in it as well. Lately have mixed with morning coffee and it is a nice energizing treat.
