Jarrow Probiotics are a wonderful, wonderful thing. If you have problems with things like acid reflux or heartburn, this is the product for you.<br /><br />I used to have both of these issues and took aciphex, prilosec, and countless others that tore my stomach up even worse than what I was attempting to fix, but jarrow probiotics was recommended by someone in the whole foods store in bedford, Massachusetts and it has been smooth sailing ever since.<br /><br />I no longer have any problems with acid reflux or heartburn, and I can eat whatever I chose to eat, without any side effects.<br /><br />It is not an overnight fix, though. You do have to take it for a few weeks to begin to feel the difference when you eat a food that would normally cause you a problem, and you do have to continue to use the probiotics daily, but the good thing is that you can cut down on the dose once you achieve the desired results, and this is a natural product, so you can take it forever if you choose for maintenance.<br /><br />It really works out your digestive system as well, and gets you back to using the restroom regularly, without any issues.

I wanted to use this product for awhile before leaving my review. I was diagnosed with severe crohns disease back in october of 2012 and given some harsh medicines and within a month i needed to receive an emergency stomach resection where they took roughly 8 inches of my small intestine, 4&#34; from my large, some of my colon, and my appendix. I was told that i have over a 90% chance of needed another surgery within a year and that i needed to go onto medicines that could cause cancer and many many other issues. I was highly against this route and decided to go all natural in trying to combat my issue. Ive been taking jarro-dophilus soon after this as well as a few other all natural digestive enzymes and my condition immediately turned around and have been in remission for over 5 years now and my doctors are incredibly impressed. All of my bloodwork and tests are coming back much better than the normal crohns patients. These truly do work wonders for me and I will be taking them for the rest of my life.<br /><br />On a side note, since taking these I hve not gotten sick or needed any type of antibiotics when before i would be going to the doctor roughly 1 or 2 times a year with some type of sickness so this proves that it is also helping with the immune system. I highly recommend these to everyone.

Take one on an empty stomach first thing in the morning about 30 minutes before eating. Take one at night on an empty stomach before going to bed and one in the middle of the day, if necessary. No more Tums, Prilosec, or Pepcid for me!

I was recently on an array of antibiotics (Augmentin, Keflex, Levaquin, & Clindamiacin) for 1 month due to a severe sinus infection after wisdom teeth removal. I had always been a healthy, person but developed severe constipation, diarrhea, and digestive irregularity after the antibiotics. During the time I was on antibiotics, I tried pill-form acidophilus and Yakult and nothing worked--I was irregular and even severely constipated at times. Then I went to Whole Foods and bought Bio-K+ liquid probiotcs (they were expensive!) and still no change for the better. Finally, someone recommended Jarro-Dophilus EPS and it made SUCH a difference.<br /><br />My digestion is finally back to normal after taking them for 1 week. I am so grateful to Jarro for this fine product and will always use it from now on. (Note: I refrigerate them when I'm not traveling as it extends the product's potency.)<br /><br />I highly recommend this probiotic!

I have ulcerative colitis and have had two c-diff infections in the past. My gastroenterologist suggested I try probiotics to help with flare ups and to maybe lessen the problems with c-diff. On the one hand, there isn't a lot of scientific proof probiotics help. On the other hand, it's not really going to hurt you either. With that being said, probiotics seem to help me.<br /><br />Jarro-dophilus was the first probiotic I ever tried. Because of my disease, I usually look for probiotics that have more than 3 strains and several billion units. This one has 8 strains of &quot;good&quot; probiotics with 5 billion units. To me, the higher the numbers, the better chance it will have some type of effect. Also, because of the c-diff infections, I try to get brands that have lactobacillus rhamnosus. This brand has it.<br /><br />The nice thing about the Jarro-dophilus is that there are 120 capsules. A lot of brands give only 30 or 60 capsules and you have to be careful because they may say take two a day. If it's 2 capsules a day, 30 capsules isn't even a one month supply. This brand says take 1 to 2 capsules a day so conceivably, it's either a two to four-month supply depending on how many you take a day. My GI doctor suggested I take one a day and only go to two a day if I'm having a flare up or other symptoms.<br /><br />Although it's not a big deal to me, Jarro-dophilus does not require refrigeration. I've used types that require refrigeration, require refrigeration after opening, or don't require it at all. They all have worked fine for me. If you are one to travel a lot, you may want to consider ones that do not require refrigeration. Also, it's a bit more convenient when you don't need to worry about refrigeration, especially on days you're in a rush and trying to get out the door. You don't want to get to work and then wonder if you remembered to put the probiotic back in the fridge.<br /><br />One thing that surprised me was that these come in blister packs within the box. I would have preferred to have them all in a bottle, but it works the same. Maybe the blister packs are more convenient when traveling.<br /><br />Overall, I think this is a very good product that has worked for me. My doctor suggests switching brands every so often and I tend to make sure Jarro-dophilus is in the rotation.
