Very strong smell of sulfur, which means it is of very high potency. Any L-Cysteine that has no smell or weak smell is of little use. Have been taking this supplement for years and this one is among the best, and surely the best price.

I don't use this everyday, or even every week. Because I don't get drunk every week. I don't even drink every week. But when I want to go to a party and have a good time, and not worry about having a hangover that night and the next morning, I take some of this with me, and once I get to the party, I take about 1/4 teaspoon of it and mix it into a glass of plain water. Then I sip it in between drinks, and after my final drink for the evening. It does not taste good, but it is very effective. Cysteine binds to acetaldehyde (a toxic byproduct of drinking alcohol) and neutralizes it quite effectively. I've tried cysteine tablets and while they work okay, they don't work as well as this powder format.<br /><br />Again, not something I would take on a daily basis. Just for days or nights when I drink alcohol.<br /><br />For daily consumption of cysteine, I take NAC capsules on an empty stomach for better absorption.

The product that I received was not fresh. I received it February 11, 2015, but date of manufacture was November, 2013 and date of expiration is November, 2015. I use it as a dough conditioner. So far it is working satisfactorily, bu I will probably not use it all before it expires
