Cardiovascular Health

I was diagnosed with genetic cardiomyopathy in Oct 2015 with a EF of 40%. After 6 months of treatment consisting of ace inhibitors, beta blockers, and statins my EF % was increased to 45%. I still did not feel well and was worried my condition was worsening. After some research I decided to introduce L-Arginine, L-Carnitine, Hawthorn Berries, & Ubiquinol to my daily regiment. After 2 months of starting these supplements my EF was increased to 55-60% and I felt great. I'm still using the same prescription medications my doctor prescribed for me and cleared these supplements with him prior to use. This brand of L-Carnitine is the best quality and compared to the pill form is way more friendlier to your wallet. I will definitely continue to buy this product as I think it's helping with my heart condition.

Too much of a good thing

I ordered the 500 gram bag and that proved to be more than I could use. L-Carnitine dissolves so easily that it liquefies with even the slightest humidity. It's packed with desiccant to help keep it dry, and I even live in Arizona, but still I wound up with roughly a third to half a bag of goo. I can't imagine what it would be like if I lived somewhere with high humidity.

I still was able to scoop that out and stir it into water, but it was a mess. I'm ordering more, but getting the smaller 250 gram bag. It's more expensive per ounce, but since I wound up throwing out around 100 grams of the old bag, I really didn't save that much.

So Far, So good!

There is some clinical evidence that L-carnitine supplementation increases mitochondrial biogenesis and exercise endurance.
At 64 years of age, I take a morning dose of approx 80mg L- carnitine, approx 100mg alpha lipoic acid and approx 70 mg Korean ginseng in combination with 1 serving of coconut milk (~14g of dietary fat.)
Removing any one of these results in nearly zero overall effectiveness, but taken in combination they seem to have a significant positive effect on mental clarity and physical stamina, two things at this point in my life in chronic short supply.
So far I haven't felt any particular dependency on them; skipping them just brings back the diminished capacity I have learned to accept with age. My intent is to keep the dose low as outlined above. Long term effects are difficult to assess however. The regimen appears to me beneficial in the 18 months I've done it.

For the last week the L-carnitine from Bulk Supplements appears to be at least as effective as my previous source, but measuring such a small amount at a time is challenging. Less volume because of its purity is a plus though, imho. That purity and less overall cost are why I purchased it. As the L-carnitine and ginseng I have on hand is eventually used up, I sincerely hope I can rely on this new source for them as well. The Bulk Supplements store on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?me=A8MA32QEVO3GI) covers an amazing variety of products.

ITS WORKING!

This was apart of my initial order to get back on the road to recovery after my dr told me she suspected an autoimmune disorder. She recommended the Wahl Protocol and this was one of the supplements that Dr. Terry recommends. I had ordered from Bulk Supplements before so I knew it was a safe company to order from. It came in the mail and I kid you not within 3 days I felt more focused and was sleeping incredibly better. I was taking it in conjunction with creatine. I'm sold and happy for the clarity I feel.

Great value and one of my staple supplements. Have been using for a year already.

I'm using this L-Carnitine for its many benefits including increased energy, fat metabolism, and increased cognition. I take this twice a day on an empty stomach or mix with water/juice/protein shake -- not with solid food -- with the goal of absorbing as much as possible since this comes in powder form. I've tested on a micro-gram scale and verified that the measuring guide is accurate, and I take 1/2 teaspoon (about 1.5 grams) in the morning and then another in the afternoon for the energy boost. One side note: There is some new research that L-Carnitine may be linked to high cholesterol or cholesterol build-up. I'm still investigating this and I'll update this review as I find more information, but for now, I suggest monitoring your cholesterol levels if you are taking large amounts (3 grams or more daily) of this supplement.

BulkSupplements Helps Me Keep My Heart Healthy!

I am so happy that I found BulkSupplements L-carnitine, Taurine, L-arginine, and Magnesium glycinate! These are top notch supplements at a fantastic price! Thanks BulkSupplements! I use these supplements to keep my heart healthy and free from irregular beats! The L-carnitine works in tandem with CoQ10, and helps prevent premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). Taurine improves contractions of my heart, maintains potassium levels in the heart and dampens down the sympathetic nervous system. The use of magnesium is helpful because it lowers my blood pressure, reducing risk of stroke, plus it functions in the electrical circuitry of the heart. Lastly, Arginine works in tandem with taurine to widen my blood vessels, allowing for more blood flow throughout the body.
