the packaging and shipping has ALWAYS been excellent, thank you bulksupplements!<br /><br />after tons of research, we started adding l-histidine hcl to my daughter's diet to reduce the amount of steroid ointment she needs for her skin to stay healthy. she's been to the dermatologist and tested for allergies - the determination is that her body doesn't produce enough fillagrin. we've tried diet modification. NOTHING helped except slathering her every night in lotion followed by head to toe application of steroid ointment - until we added in the l-histidine hcl! now, she still gets lotion nightly, but barely any steroid ointment! it's been fantastic.<br /><br />we use almond bark and flavors to make her 'chocolates' - but it can also be dissolved into juice. it goes very well with citrus flavors!!

I don't absorb non polar amino acids due to immunosuppressants for a transplant. Thus, along with some other amino acids I am low in histidine. One consequence is that I have no stomach acid. A consequence of that is a B12 deficiency, despite adequate meat consumption. Taking Bulksupplements' histidine normalizes my stomach acid.<br /><br />I know many people, including myself, are leary of buying supplements made in China. I don't like the idea but Bulksupplements products have always proved to be effective.

Histidine is one of the lesser known amino acids when it comes to supplementing, however it is by far one of the most important. The body requires histidine to be able to use metals like iron and copper. It is very important for those suffering from anemia. When I take it, I notice dramatic improvements in my energy levels and a general sense of calmness. I generally take 2-3g per day. This product has really helped my low stomach acid levels. And I've tried everything--zinc, betaine, apple cider vinegar. (Probably other remedies, they're just not coming to mind right now.) It seemed I was doomed to live my life burping and feeling too full after meals. Then I read that this obscure amino acid might be a solution, so I figured I'd try it too.<br /><br />I took 1000mg about 30 min before my meal on an empty stomach. And it was a miracle! No bloating whatsoever. As a bonus, my perpetual post nasal drip became far less of a problem too. (Unfortunately, it didn't solve my issue, even though supposedly low histidine can be the cause of this problem.) A week later, I was getting stomach rumblings when I was hungry, which I hadn't gotten for years. I experimented with dosages and decided on 500mg / 30 min before every meal. It took about a week to really feel like my stomach was working its best. I'm not sure how long I'll keep taking this. Perhaps my deficiency is fixed? While some may think that histidine would increase histamine levels, it actually depends on the concentration of histidine in the bloodstream. The higher the concentration, the slower the release of histamine from the mast cells where it is stored.<br /><br />It definitely helps my sinus congestion and watery eyes. I notice a difference when I forget to take it.<br /><br />Nice to have it available from BulkSupplements in powder form as it's more cost effective and easier to take.
