Serious

I've tried melatonin off and on over the years and had to settle for ASSUMING it must be working. That was with versions that had common melatonin levels that ran around three to five milligrams.

A friend mentioned he took some brand with sixty milligrams and it worked for him, so I bit the bullet and tried a bottle of this. Suffice it to say I bought another bottle and will buy a back up.

For those who recognize many pharmaceuticals are just imitations of real life, and that there are good quality natural thing [or closer to it], this may be for you. More so since it is indicted this can even aid your immune system to fight against that stuff for which lot of one sided propaganda was made.

Berry what?

There is nothing berry flavored about these, nor do they dissolve, but they help me to sleep. At this point, who knows what it is that actually makes you sleepy but they do work and don't give me any type of groggy feeling.
I put one in my mouth, bite it, fill my mouth with water and then swallow. THEN, brush my teeth. I'm asleep within 30 mins and I've been taking these for at least 3 months now. I wake up before my alarm but that's just me. I think they work well .😁🙃

One tiny tablet works like a charm every time!

I can’t begin to share how grateful I am that I came across this product! My Mom has suffered with Lewy Parkinson dementia for most of her life. With this horrible disease she has suffered from a chronic sleep disorder where she remains awake in agitation and constant confusion for a majority of the night. She has been taking one tablet (an hour before bedtime) for the past four nights and she has remained asleep for at least 10 hours every night! She is so much more rested and the 10 hours of sleep each night have made a huge difference in her day to day life. We are so grateful and truly hope that others experience the same experience that we have!

Best nights sleep

I do not write a lot of reviews but these are magical. I normally have a difficult time getting to sleep but with one pill I was tired and asleep within an hour. I recommend having a glass of water near you as they are quite the beast to dissolve but nothing a quick swig of water can’t fix. Buy these if you have problems relaxing and getting to sleep!

If you need High -Dose Melatonin, look no more...

First, I'm not a doctor. This review contains my personal experiences with and opinions about high dose Melatonin. Specifically, this product in the 60mg dosage (Although, full disclosure, I take 180mg/day).

Melatonin is a hormone naturally produced in the human body. It's largely responsible for why we get sleepy after the sun goes down. But as we age, like most naturally occurring substances our bodies make, we start to produce less and less until by the time we hit 60 we're about outta gas. That's when supplementation can really help.

A lot of people don't think melatonin does much for them. That could be because they're taking it wrong. Research studies have found that when melatonin is taken right before bedtime, it may not be effective unless high doses are used. On the other hand, when smaller doses (2-5mg) are taken 2-4 hours before you plan to go to bed it will work better.

Since I take a relatively high dose, only at bedtime, I've found this to be very true. For me it works as well as diphenhydramine (the stuff in NyQuil or Tylenol-PM that causes drowsiness, which is now sold without the cold meds as a sleep aid) without the aftereffects. And it's not habit forming like benzodiazepines.

High dose melatonin is somewhat controversial, but in my experience it shouldn't be. I've been taking 180mg of melatonin per day for over a year and have had zero negative physical or psychological effects, unless you count vivid dreaming, which I don't consider a negative. I research the Upper Intake Limit for all supplements I consume (usually Pub-Med.org research studies) and have found nothing to indicate that there is ANY toxic level of melatonin use. There have only been 2 cases of supposed overdose of melatonin in the US since 1997. The adverse effects of this 'overdose' were drowsiness, lethargy and disorientation, which were resolved without treatment by the next morning. In Texas, this sounds like a typical Saturday night...

I can't comment on whether any of the other multitude of benefits claimed as a result of high-dose melatonin are true. There are books at Amazon written or endorsed by Naturopaths, DOs, MDs and PhDs that describe the impact of melatonin in high doses as nothing short of miraculous, and if the research studies and clinical trials can be believed, they may be right. (Search Amazon Books, Melatonin: Miracle Molecule)

All I know is, I've been taking this specific product for over a year and during that entire time my only illness was a cold that lasted for a day and a half. (No, I didn't isolate due to COVID, I went to our local restaurant INDOORS once a week and engaged in inter-state travel.)

I like the taste of this product (Berry). Because it dissolves fast, I place two tablets under my tongue and let it dissolve over the course of about 3-5 minutes. Then a sip or two of water and lights out. I'm usually asleep within 10 minutes or so. I've read that sublingual dosing can increase the absorption rate up to 50%, so 180 mg taken sublingually means I'm getting about 90mg into my bloodstream. Which is great since melatonin when swallowed reportedly has an average absorption rate of only 2.5%.

I did work my way up to 180mg gradually. My goal was to take between 180 to 200mg nightly. Starting with 5mg for a week, I doubled the amount every week until I hit 80mg, then reduced the increase and took 120mg nightly for a month. When that was tolerated without issues, I stepped up to 140mg then reached 180mg after another month. A 'therapeutic' dose is supposed to be between 100-200mg, but these 60mg tablets make it simple to take 180mg, so that's close enough to the goal for me.

In case you're wondering, this company also makes a 20mg tablet in the same easy-dissolve form, which I purchased to work my way up in increments. You can also use a pill cutter on the 60s and take as little as 15mg, but I used the 20mg tabs to make it simpler.

Do your own homework and talk to your doctor, but don't be surprised if he/she is as ignorant as most other people on this particular subject because they don't do a deep dive study of melatonin in med school. Also, this is a natural hormone and not a medicine, so big pharma and the medical establishment will largely ignore the product, if not knock it since they can't control it and make big bucks.

That said, you're paying your doctors, so listen to them, especially if you have other medical conditions. It's not that melatonin itself has ever hurt anyone, but being a pharmacologically active agent, it can interact and interfere with OTHER medicines and drugs. (I love it when 'experts' say, "Nah, that stuff doesn't work at all... but don't take it with (name your drug) because it can have adverse effects." Hmmm, if it doesn't work, how can it possibly have adverse effects, I wonder...

One final thought. I selected this product largely because of its price, which is less than (I think) all other similar products available on Amazon. Melatonin is melatonin, and as long as it seems to be working to help me get to sleep, 's all good, man. Why spend more when it tastes fine and can be used sublingually?

foul tasting

I have bought same brand in the 30mg and it is berry tasting. So since this is same brand but 60mg, I was expecting to be the same or close in taste. But no these are so awful, I just can't use. They say they are returnable. I have used 4 tablets but I am going to return and hopefully get money refunded. I will go back to the 30mg
