Good probiotic supplement and science, but 2 dollars a pill and 14 day supply?
I'm glad that people seemed to benefit from this probiotic but I didn't notice initially that it was a 14 day supply. At around 27 dollars that still would be a lot for a 30 day supply. I'm not a fan of the route that some supplement manufacturers seem to be going which is very small amounts of probiotics for "cleanse" or "detox" purposes. I'm glad they helped some people but I don't really consider the ingredients in this one like that. I like that they had a mix of some interesting fermented whole superfoods like flax, chaga, and alma. I'm seeing more probiotics that have a superfood blend so the probiotics have something to eat on the way down and you get a little boast from the superfoods.

This probiotic has 3 patented strains which to be fair are probably hard to find in this combination elsewhere. The L. Plantarum DR7 is new-ish and has a lot of interesting studies about it helping memory and stuff as well as gut/respiratory issues. L. Rhamnosus GG is also heavily studied and and found in well known probiotic supplements like Culturele. It also has a strain of B. Breve in it but from what I understand there is less hype about this strain and it's basically just B. Breve. The company claims that since it's fermented with flax, this strain has the ability to break down the flavonoids further so you get more nutrients and antioxidants out of it. When I looked up this claim online the first result was the company's website but there is actually a paper discussing this called "Production of flavonoid and lignan aglycones from flaxseed and soy extracts by Bifidobacterium strains ". So it's interesting that these guys did their homework and I guess I can see with the patented strains and their claims of really making sure the ferment media is high quality that the price would be high.

I was happy to try this and I'm glad the company put so much care into this, but you can reproduce this yourself with normal probiotics and flax seed most likely at a lower cost.
