I use this sublingual kind because it starts working a little faster than p.o., but even so, it is not like taking a "sleeping pill" where you feel it in a matter of minutes. This comes on extremely gradually; for me it's an hour or more. I'm really, REALLY sensitive to it, though, so I split a 1-mg tablet into anywhere from 4 to 5 little chunks, that's 200-250 mcg (micrograms) and it totally works. If I take an entire 1-mg pill I won't get up until noon. So one bottle lasts over a year. Good stuff. An easy fix for chronic insomnia.

As a health care provider, I was resistant to the idea of using melatonin. However, with a child with ADHD and a lot of stress when the kids don't get enough sleep, we started to try melatonin. We have tried extended release formulatons, sublingual and chewable. This one is the one my children prefer for taste and effectiveness. They can take pills just fine, so that isn't a variable. The evidence shows that anything over 1 mg just becomes waste, and we haven't seen anything to dispute that when we've tried 3 and 5 mg versions. We use it just at transition times, like back to school, before or after vacations, etc. We also work on other healthy skills for sleep, so the kids aren't just reliant on melatonin. With all that said, we are very happy with this brand and formulation.

I bought some Melatonin after watching Dr. Oz talk about it. I have had insomnia the past few months and every little thing would wake me and keep me awake. I first started out with 1 pill but it didn't quite seem to do the job so I upped it to two and now I am sleeping like a baby! I also bought a sleep mask at the same time so light wouldn't effect me going to sleep anymore and with this combination I am sleeping through the night. I take it about 30 minutes prior to when I want to fall asleep and it works great. My boyfriend leaves for work at 5:30 in the morning and it used to wake me up everytime and I could never go back to sleep. Now if he kisses me goodbye I briefly wake up say my goodbye's and drift right back into sleep. And it's finally got me sleeping past 6:30 which is great! The orange flavor is yummy.

I have bought these several times and know how quickly they dissolve. So when I took one and woke up about an hour later to find it had not dissolved I knew bottle contained wrong product. I have some Source Naturals time release and they looked like those. These are not the shiny bright white like the lozenges but a dull white and feel grainy. When I checked Amazon reviews I saw the last two reviews said the same thing about getting wrong product.

I have been using this product for years with great results. During the summer months of 2020, I was unable to find 1mg orange and substituted with 5mg. When the 1mg became available again, I purchased two bottles and noted the taste and texture is completely different from before. There is no orange taste whatsoever and there is a gritty, chalk like feel which takes much longer to dissolve sublingually. There is an additional ingredient silica on the label which was not listed on previous purchases. While the product does seem to work as intended, I am disappointed with this change to the formula.

The bottle has the wrong product in it. Absolutely no orange flavor. Not sure they will dissolve under my tongue! Afraid to use product. Sorry for the harsh review, but it’s definitely not the same thing I ordered last time.
