I felt like I should really post a review regarding the multiple reviews I saw about this product and improper labelling. My daughters have just started using this but it seems to work fantastically! I had seen a lot of reviews saying that the label was incorrect because it was 3 mg on the front and 5 mg on the back, which led to uncertaintyin which mg was in the bottle. I took the chance in ordering it since I figured I could break the pill in half if it was in fact the 5 mg, but as you can see from the pictures, it says 3 mg all over the bottle, so I'm not sure if this was just an error in packaging before, or not, but it seems that whatever was wrong with it has been resolved. I highly recommend this product!

We subscribe to the Natrol 3mg melatonin, and have for some time. We have had several other favorites, a Schiff blend, and Amazon’s Solimo brand. The problem with melatonin is that for some reason, those two formulations have been discontinued, with no explanation. We find the Natrol to be very effective. Sometimes, it works to split the pill and to take 1.5 mg. Currently, the 3.0 mg tablet is working well for me. My husband prefers 4.5 mg - a tablet and a half. The dosages required seem to vary for different people, and it doesn’t hurt to step the dosage downward once in a while to see if it will be enough. I think it is always best to take the minimum of any supplement that gives the desired effect. Because quality of sleep is rather easy to observe, it is easy to determine how much melatonin is just enough. This formulation is really easy to take. It dissolves on the tongue, and I find that I become sleepy within 15 minutes to half an hour. It will not, however, overcome over consumption of caffeine, so if you need to cut off caffeine early in the day, you will still need to do so if you take melatonin. This has never caused grogginess for either of us, though your mileage may vary.

We used these throughout the year in a place that was predominantly day/night (very long days or very long nights) to help us get regular sleep. I take melatonin rarely, and would usually snap a tablet in half (easy to do with fingers), while my partner would take one whole. They easily melt in the mouth, and about 30min later we were ready for sleep. We liked them so much we got another bottle to keep in the medicine cabinet at our non-polar home.<br /><br />I specifically chose this dosing after doing a little bit of reading on concentration efficacy: 3mg dosage is what I read would do well for him - over the course of a year with regular use (often, but not every night) we found this to be accurate. I (rarely) take the 1.5mg, or sometimes 3mg when I can tell I'm struggling with circadian efforts.

Taste good and works quickly

Because it includes 10mg of B6, 590% of the minimum daily requirement. That's not likely to cause damage, but if you follow the directions and "gradually increase your dosage until you find the right amount" you could be taking up to 30mg, plus whatever else you're getting from vitamins and food. As little as 100mg of B6 can cause neuropathy, ataxia and skin lesions.<br /><br />B6 is helpful for melatonin to be converted to serotonin, but that could be accomplished simply by timing taking a vitamin supplement at bedtime. If I wanted more B6, I would have liked to have been told before buying this. Note that the visual of the back label above says nothing about any added B6 content.

It tastes good and works quickly. I usually only take one and give it about 15/20 min before I start to get sleepy. I don’t use it regularly…just when I’m having sleep problems.
