Finally something that decreases pain and inflammation.

I have SLE and RA. I decided to try a turmeric supplement. After taking this product for a month I noticed a huge improvement in my life. Nothing had ever relieved my pain. Not painkillers or steroids. The side effects were terrible, weight gain, stomach upset ect.
After taking this especially during extreme stress and flare ups. I could definitely feel a difference.
I add it to my brewed coffee regular or decaf. Amazing results. I have recommend it to everyone.
I even have medical proof that needed as a nurse to confirm it's results. All of my blood work showed a major improvement.
There is no sign or trace on inflammation.
I tried other products and did not notice the same effect.

Pain Pain Go Away, Come Again...NEVER

I have been using turmeric for pain for some time now. I am used to consuming higher dosages of curcumin for it, but when I saw this, I thought it would make a nice way to get more turmeric into my diet. Let's see how it worked out..

WHAT IS THIS POWDER LIKE?
This powder comes in a flat wide jar which makes it easy to put a spoon into. It also makes it easy for me to put the powder into capsules if I prefer. The odor is not unpleasant, but I am used to turmeric. Those who do not like turmeric would not like this. It is a fine powder and is standardized to 95% curcuminoids. 1 tsp has approximately 50mg of standardized turmeric and also vitamin C.

HOW DOES THIS PERFORM?
I have taken this in smoothies, and I must say that it goes okay in some green smoothies, but there are times when I prefer NOT to have the flavor of turmeric in my smoothies or food. On those days, I fill up two gel caps with powder and take them as a pill form of supplement. That works out fine and I have no burping back or difficulties with it that way.

DO I NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE?
Because this is such a low dose of turmeric, alone this does not affect pain as significantly as if it were say 700mg as some of the more powerful supplemental dosages are. However, I did notice it takes the edge off of some chronic pain when I am particularly stressed. It is handy to have this to increase my intake of turmeric slightly on those days.

THE BOTTOM LINE
For slight assistance in pain reduction and as a supplement daily either in smoothies or in capsules that I fill with it, this is a handy jar to have in the house. I like it so far and would probably purchase it in the future, although the taste might not appeal to some. I find that filling capsules with it avoids any flavor issues.

MY RATING
Five stars. I like having this around and would be open to purchasing again the future.

I love this brand. I just wish it were less expensive. The price kind of outweighs the benefits but I bought this on a sale day so it wasn't that bad. It tastes great and I even put it in my soups. I can also drink it just in water as it has a sweet taste to it.

Helps with IBS

I read this helps with inflammation so I thought why not try it for IBS since that's a type of inflammation issue. I'm so happy to say it works! I mix mine with milk and it tastes great. I was told my symptoms were a side effect from having Grave's Disease (hyperthyroidism) and I was just going to have to live with it. My thyroid went into remission but the IBS didn't go away. I've been "living with it" for over a year. Asked the Dr. if this would help and they said no. HA! Love that I found a natural remedy!

Quite bitter taste

I tried this supplement three ways: in plain water, in stevia-sweetened Earl Grey tea, and in a green smoothie. I drink a green smoothie every day which contains the following organic produce and supplements: 4 ounces carrots, 1 banana, 3/4 cup spinach, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup strawberries, rice protein powder, wheat grass powder, dandelion root powder and cocurcumin (an extra-bioavailable form of curcumin, the main healing constituent of turmeric), 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, water, stevia, calcium powder, magnesium powder, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) powder.

In none of these three versions did this product taste good to me, even in my green smoothie. My smoothie tends to be on the bitter side (due to the spinach, wheat grass, cocurcumin, pepper and dandelion root), but this supplement is so bitter, it didn't get lost in the existing bitterness and blend in with it. Other people who enjoy a bitter taste may not notice the bitterness, and it definitely could be lessened by taking this supplement with fruit juice and adding some honey or stevia. I don't personally drink fruit juice so that wouldn't work for me.

I have listed the ingredients below. There are no unhealthy ingredients and several healthy ones. This supplement contains probiotics (healing to the gut) and pomegranate extract (anti-inflammatory), but its main claim to fame is turmeric combined with black pepper. Turmeric contains curcumin, which has powerful anti-inflammatory effects because it is very strong antioxidant. Research has indicated that combining turmeric with black pepper may boost its bioavailability as much as 2000%. This is because the piperine in pepper acts as an excellent bio-enhancer. Piperine is an alkaloid that gives black pepper (Piper nigrum) its pungency. Note that when taking turmeric, it is only necessary to add a pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) of pepper to achieve this effect.

Unfortunately, the curcumin content of turmeric, such as what is contained in this supplement, is only around 3% by weight, which is why most people who want to experience the healing effects of curcumin take it as a supplement extracted from turmeric, rather than turmeric itself, because to get the full positive effect, it would require taking a relatively huge dose of turmeric. This is what I do myself, as mentioned above.

Normally, I do not purchase combination supplements like this. I prefer to purchase supplements individually in order to control the dosage I take, and it also allows me to avoid paying a convenience fee for a company like this particular manufacturer to figure out for me what they think will make an excellent combination supplement.

However, for people who like convenience, don't mind paying a premium for that convenience, and don't mind a bitter taste, they might enjoy this supplement.

Ingredients: Organic Florida orange juice powder, organic turmeric blend [organic fermented turmeric root, organic turmeric root extract (standardized to 95% curcuminoids, 50 mg)], organic lemon juice powder, organic rooibos tea extract (leaf), organic pomegranate extract ]standardized to 50% polyphenols] (peel), organic fermented ginger (root), organic black pepper (fruit) extract, probiotic blend 1 billion CFU (bifidobacterium lactis Bl-04, lactobacillus acidophilus La-14).

An great support for your immune system and inflammation.

This is the second jar I've used. It is great helping with inflammation and keeping your immune system strong and fighting. It desolves great in hot tea and tastes good with honey and I add a little ginger.
