my doctor recommended this as a sleep aid

For sleeping.... my doctor recommended this as a sleep aid. It helps to prevent the mind from racing and it works.I take 2 about a half hour before sleep along with PS. The PS controls cortisol levels which can awaken me during the night. I am very sensitive to products, but these two are good. Nothing stimulating about either one.

Caused insomnia

I might be one of the rare cases where Glycine acts as an excitatory instead of inhibitory amino acid. I'm pretty sure Glycine causes disturbed sleep and staying awake all night for me. I'm posting this for the benefit of those who like me might be in the minority and are wondering why Glycine isn't resolving their sleep issue.

ZZZZZZ

This does help me with sleep, but I don't use it alone. I use it with pharma gaba, L theanine, tryptophan and magnesium for a "Beat impossible insomnia" cocktail. I looked up the studies on Glycine before purchasing. And Solar is a good brand. Glycine does promote dreaming which for me has been elusive. No nightmares after one year of administration. zzzzzzzzzz

Solgar is my trusting supplement source.

This is a first time regiment of Glycine for liver/gall bladder health. Time will tell of its benefit effects. Solgar is my favorite go-to supplement supplier. I have always felt confident using Solgar. products.
FYI: My only Connection to Solgar is to buy their supplement products.

Essential part of sleep mix

Glycine is proven to improve sleep quality.

This is my before-bed sleep mix:

niacin 500mg
glycine 3-4g
taurine 2g
TMG 1.5g (because niacin and taurine deplete methyl groups)
melatonin 10-20mg (niacin is essential when taking doses this large. Without niacin, melatonin disrupts my sleep and I feel groggy in the morning)
chromium 300mcg
P5P 50mg
tryptophan 500-1000mg

works like a charm!

Unfotunateliy it's not recommended to take Glycine for more then 14-30 days

I started new job recently and was taking glycine every night. For the past 3 weeks I never was tired in the morning, though it was normal for me usually to be tired after I worked too hard the day before. Unfotunateliy it's not recommended to take Glycine for more then 14-30 days, so I have to cut it out.
