I don't normally write reviews, but this product gets an exception.<br /><br />I purchased this product for leaky gut after reading that L-glutamine could help heal it. To my surprise, after a little over a week of supplementation my symptoms are significantly better. Physically better, I have less joint pain, and bowel movements are near perfect.<br /><br />I remain skeptical of its long term use, as diet is really the only way to prevent further damage to the gut once it is healed. I intend on quitting use after about a month or so. But, I will keep this supplement around in case I need it again.<br /><br />Note that I also started supplementing with magnesium and started a probiotic 3 days ago. So I have not used the L-glutamine independently of the magnesium for a significant period, but the probiotic is new.

Glutamine for me and the animals.<br /><br />I'm a physician who learned about the benefits back in the 1990's when working with HIV Pos patients. The benefits are extensive: it's the only chemical that can scrub nitrates, ammonia, urea; it supports GI tract health (and best known cure for diarrhea); it supports immunity; it supports some liver and renal functions and so on!<br /><br />I love the large container. Usually when I buy in bulk it comes in a bag. It's much easier to scoop out of this container!!

I started out using this powder for leaky gut and it worked great. I then switched to try other powders because this brand really didn’t dissolve completely. Maybe It’s because I’m only using 4oz of water to 1 scoop. Regardless, when I tried other brands I noticed my Leaky gut symptoms coming back. But when I switched back to Nutricost, my symptoms went away again. I’m convinced this stuff is the real deal. I contacted the company to find out where they source their L-Glutamine and they said from USA and Australia. As far as taste goes, I usually squirt in a bit of water flavoring when I take it. And usually when I take it, I stir with a little straw and drink quickly before any un-dissolved bits settle to the bottom. I did notice one day when I added a scoop to 8oz of water that I also added a scoop of Benefiber to, that it dissolved completely. Just thought I’d throw that out there in case it helps anyone trying to decide. What sells me on this stuff is that it actually works and that it’s not sourced from China. Never again will I experiment with other brands. My health is too important.

UPDATE: After more and consistent use, this does seem to be curbing my sugar cravings. I use 2 scoops. Yay!<br /><br />The pros: this is a good value for the money, this stirs into a drink easily and does not clump.<br /><br />The cons: will add a slightly bitter flavor to water, at least to my taste buds.<br /><br />How I use it: I add 2 scoops to a powdered greens drink. I tried with water, but couldn't do it. I am about a week in and maybe am noticing a subtle difference with my stomach issues. I bought this to reduce the "leaky gut" symptoms and to help with my joint pain. My joint pain does not feel much different, but it is winter and I imagine I will need to have weeks and months of use under my belt to see a difference. I do think I will continue using this product though, on my endless quest to feel like my best self.

I love Nutricost L-Glutamine Powder. You get used to the flavorless "taste" with the water very fast, at least I did. I love that it only has L-glutamine and not any other ingredients in it. This is my third purchase of the product and will continue buying it.

I use this because I have an auto immune condition that attacks my hair, skin, joints, lungs and the most painful is my muscles. I am not sure how much this helps but I have been taking it for a few months. I have muscle breakdown and I hope this helps with repair.
