Top of the Line Amino Formula

I've tried almost every major amino acid supplement out there from Amino X to Xtend all the way to Cellucor's new amino complex. The one that sticks out as the most effective is Purple Wraath. Here's why.

Taste: 9/10: When I first started taking Purple Wraath I wasn't too fond of the taste, but it really grew on me. I had the grape flavor every time and loved to sip on it during my workouts. It's not too sweet, but definitely not a dull taste either. It's right in the middle which makes it so easy to drink.
Formula: 10/10: Definitely one part where the product shines. The dosage of amino acids is so much higher than most other formulas. I think Cellucor's new formula only has around 3 grams. It's so much nicer paying for a product with a formula you know is going to work.
Effectiveness: 10/10: This is where the product shines brighter than any other recovery supplement out there. I usually get DOMS about a day after my workouts. When I first started taking Purple Wraath I was weirded out when I didn't get sore the day after. I thought maybe I didn't work out as hard as I could, but that wasn't the case. No matter how hard I worked this supplement made me feel like I was invincible. The other amazing aspect was my endurance in the gym. I was like the energizer bunny, I just didn't want to quit.
Overall: 10/10: Controlled Labs definitely knows what they're doing. This was the first supplement I tried from the brand, but have since used Controlled Labs supplements as a staple in every stack. Purple Wraath will not disappoint, that's something I guarantee!

The best pre

This is my favorite pre and intra workout drink.

My observations:

1. The paresthesia from the beta-alanine is interesting but not awful. I still get it every time I use this product.

2. I actually like the taste of the purple lemonade. Reading the reviews here make me wonder what other people are using. If you can choke down a protein shake, this should be no problem.

3. This is one of the few pre drinks I can find that doesn't contain caffeine.

Horrendous Taste ...

I've tried a lot of nutritional supplements and typically I am only concerned with one thing and one thing only ... HOW WELL THE SUPPLEMENT WORKS. I can always stomach virtually anything regardless of taste, provided the supplement actually does what it says it will do. PURPLE WRAATH IS THE EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE. The taste of Purple Wraath is so phenomenally bad, so wretched and so god awful, that regardless of whether it works or not, I suggest you don't waste your $50 on it. I'm attempting to use the remainder of the cannister because I don't really want to throw away my $50, although finishing it will be more challenging than some of my workouts. With numerous other very good amino acid products on the market today, the taste of this one makes me wish I never would have tried it.

Great pre-workout supplement

Taste is bad compared to Xtend, but the price is solid. Profile is good with BCAA, EAA, and Beta Alanine. I used to use Xtend, but wanted to switch it up. CL Purple Wraath is a solid alternative that I'd highly recommend for results, not taste.

Tastes great, considering there is no added sugars to this ...

Tastes great, considering there is no added sugars to this BCAA blend I was pleasantly suprised at how sweet and on-point the flavor was. Has a very good "grape coolaid" type of taste. The beta-alanine in this product is definitely felt; those familiar with supplements containing beta-alanine (think C4/Mr. Hyde) will know what I'm talking about - that slight tingling at your fingertips and on your lips that I can only describe as an "itch to lift weights".

If you're serious about powerlifting/bodybuilding then you already know that it's 95% proper training/diet and only 5% supplementation. That said, if you're already doing everything else right, that extra 5% can make a big difference in the gains that you make. I typically drink a serving on my way to the gym and then another serving during my workout (between sets) Purple Wraath has replaced my stimulant-based preworkout, and is worth it for that reason alone. I have found that while using it intra-workout it does give me more "gas in the tank" so to speak. Even if it's just squeezing out one extra rep in your working sets, that adds up over time and can definitely make this supplement worth adding in.

Again, I'd like to reiterate that nobody should be taking this expecting to transform into the incredible hulk after a couple of workouts...that's not how supplements work. If you are serious about your training, and are already putting in the time and have a good diet, I think you can expect to see noticeable results in performance from the get-go and will continue to see results for as long as you take it.

Controlled Labs - you've got a repeat customer with me! Keep pumping out consistent BCAAs and I'll stay on board!
