This product definitely gave me a deep sleep which was great as I’ve suffered from insomnia most of my life, but after about a week of taking it nightly, I was feeling exhausted and sleepy most of the day. I wanted to go back to bed shortly after getting up in the morning. This went on for 2 weeks and I thought it must be from some illness - I even saw my doctor to no avail. It hit me maybe it’s just too high a dose, which turns out is true. Also read that taking such a high dose can render it ineffective over time. I’ve now ordered a 300 mcg dose melatonin product and hopefully it will work, fingers crossed!

This time-release product works better than standard (for me, at least) in that it keeps me asleep longer. I'm in a high-stress personal situation right now and have been having a lot of trouble getting enough sleep. This helps, though I wish it lasted even longer! I can usually get at least 6 hours with this. I add Magnesium and GABA to the mix and actually stay asleep, for a change. I would recommend.

I have tried many different brands of melatonin, needing 3mg tablets that I can easily break into 2 since 1.5mg seems to be the dose that will help me get to sleep, but not make me groggy in the morning as taking too much tends to do. These tablets can be broken in half by hand, which is great. But, even just 1.5mg of these leaves me with a huge melatonin hangover in the morning. It's not without working...they definitely work, but are TOO strong. I will still take them after splitting in half, but only on nights when I don't work the next day and don't care about being super groggy after I wake up.

I had heard some really great things about Puritan's Pride so I was excited to find Melatonin in that brand. I have been using it consistently, every night, since receiving it a couple weeks ago.<br />Please note that I have successfully taken melatonin many, many times prior to trying this brand so I know that it is something that works very well for me. As for this brand though, it HAS NOT WORKED at all!!<br />I am very disappointed and I do not recommend this product at all. I don't understand what could be so different about this 3mg dose and the other 3mg doses from other brands but something is certainly amiss.

I take a half pill which gets me through the night. If taken full strength and/or later, it has a that kind of druggy after effect.

First few uses I actually was very sleepy the following day, so the melatonin definitely didn’t wear out after a sleep. But after getting a pill cutter, and cutting it into 4 tiny pieces, I don’t feel as lethargic and slow as I would if I had taken a full pill
