I only buy this brand, because it works the best. I was very impressed that the product came so quickly, but one thing that could be improved is Probiotics are &#34;LIVE&#34; bacteria's and need to stay fresh and cold. Heat destroys the product. This bottle doesn't seem to be working as well as the ones I buy at the health food store that are stored in the refrigerator. I don't know if the warehouse is too hot, or if the bottle are rotated correctly, or if I got an old bottle that has been sitting around longer. I made sure that I didn't order it late in the week, because I didn't want it to sit in a hot truck over the weekend. Don't forgot the glass is amber for a reason to protect it from heat and sun light.<br /><br />I liked how you wrapped the bubble wrap around the bottle to protect the glass, but in the hot shipping months could you wrap an ice brick around it, or use reflective material as well? I'm a home health nurse and I educate my patients on Probiotics/Acidophilus, because it helps boost the immune system. It can get rid of a urinary tract infection is 15 minutes, and it helps drain the sinuses of infection as well. this product makes the perfect douse and puts the ladies back in balance instantly. I have used Acidophilus for over 20 years, and it's safe for children, newborns, and all my pets.<br /><br />I did contact Country life vitamins last summer, about a shipping situation with Swanson's, and they never got back to me. I did find out that Country Life doesn't give all there vendors proper instructions on shipping, but I do know that they have invited health food owners to there plant for tours, and have given them proper instructs, to immediately store in refrigerator. I would love to refer all my patients to someone who is cautious about the hot weather and shipping. I hope to hear back from you soon to let me know.

Love this brand. Tried others, and my body likes to go back to this one. I just take 4 pills an hour before bed or so, and it makes my bowels movement very regular next morning. So perfect! With me suffering from constipation for my whole life this was a blessing revealed to me once I turned vegetarian several month ago. I love it!<br /><br />Besides I take digestive enzymes before each meal. Different brand. Don't mix enzymes and probiotics up, they can suppress each other. Better time them apart. I am so happy that my digestive system finally got a breeze from meat eating and help for digesting and eliminating! Never had any IBS bouts since all these changes.

The label the seller plops on this bottle is ALWAYS covering the expiration date! (And some other important information about the product). Then when you go to carefully peel it off to see said expiration date, it rips it off. It would make more sense to place this label over the barcode HORIZONTALLY at the bottom so it does not get in the way of important information! I hope the seller sees this and can change the way labels are placed because hiding an expiration date is unlawful.<br /><br />With that negative piece out of the way, the product itself is fantastic! I love Country Life and use many of their supplements on a daily basis!

I purchased them from whole's food here in CA. I am a bit alarmed by the warning on the container.

In my late 40's I found that I had a strong intolerance for lactose in my diet. Because of the time lag (6-7 hours for me) between ingestion and digestion problems, it was very confusing to correlate to my diet at first. It turned out to be the previous meal rather than the current meal causing the problem, and I could set a timer to 6-7 hours after eating any products with lactose! I used enzyme-containing products to aid lactose digestion for quite a while with general success, but it was tricky to get the timing with food just right as well as being sure to have the tablets always with me. The consequences of less than optimum use were very annoying and always required a few days to get back to usual. More than 5 years ago I ran into a shortage of the enzyme product on the store shelves. We found that some probiotics contained many of the same ingredients as the enzyme tablets (actually in much higher amounts), just not the purified enzyme. At this time I tried Powerdophilus as an alternative taking 1 tablet every morning before breakfast with a glass of water. It completely eliminated my dairy indigestion issues! I have been taking it daily ever since. I have never experienced any side effects and have never felt the need for any additional dairy digestion products. I can even miss a day or two, and no ill effects from dairy. Before, a piece of bread with milk as an ingredient would get me, but now I can eat pizza and a milkshake with no problem. I know the product is not advertised for this, but this is the problem it solved for me!<br /><br />2018 update -- I continue with this daily. I have nearly forgotten that I ever had a severe lactose intolerance. I haven't avoided any dairy-containing foods for years. I can even miss taking it for a few days, and it makes no difference.

I've been using this product for many, many years. I tried several kinds and while others worked this also worked as well and it's usually the least expensive brand. This product is also dairy-free, as well as soy-free, etc. Just finding dairy-free acidophilus where I'm living is getting harder and harder, that's when I began looking online. Manufacturer's are hiding all kinds of unnecessary ingredients in acidophilus these days! So if you want a pure product that works, order Country Life!
